Technical Training – Inspection of Class II Non-Automatic Weighing Devices (NAWDS)

Course objectives/outline

The objective of this course is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge to inspect Class II weighing devices in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act. The training session will cover applicable sections of the Act and the Weights and Measures Regulations, bulletins, specifications, test procedures and care and use of standards specific to this device class.

Candidates for this supplementary training must have successfully completed the training, theory examination and practical examination for the Non-Automatic Weighing Device Specifications (NAWDS) training.

The session lasts two days and includes training and the required theory examination . A mark of at least 70% is required in order to pass the theory examination.

The candidate who will have successfully passed the theoretical examination will be eligible to take the practical examination, which will take place at a later date. The pass mark for the practical examination is at least 70% in each individual section of the examination as well as the recommendation of the evaluator.

Hands-on demonstrations will be used to illustrate test procedures specific to Class II devices. To that end, candidates must bring a Class II weighing device and appropriate test weights to the training session.

$200 plus tax. Participants are responsible for all travel, accommodation and meal expenses.

Student manual

Upon receipt of the training fee, a copy of the training manual will be sent to all confirmed participants.
